Now that we have covered the basics of the products and services offered by Uphold, let's continue by having a closer look at the fees that are charged for using them.

Uphold charges a spread every time a trade is made on it's platform. A spread is simply the difference between the buying and selling price of an asset.

Uphold ensures that the price you see before you trade is the exact price you pay when you execute the trade with no hidden fees added.

Like most trading platforms, Uphold displays the current mid-market price on its charts. However when a trade is executed, users receive the current bid or ask price, depending on whether they're buying or selling.

Uphold Spread fees

For cryptocurrencies, the spread is typically 1.5% on Bitcoin and Ethereum in the U.S., U.K., and Europe. In other parts of the world, the spread on these major cryptocurrencies is typically around 1.8%.

The spreads can also be wider for certain low-liquidity assets. It's recommended that users check rates at the preview stage before trading.

Uphold Transaction fees

Besides the spread that Uphold charges when people buy and sell cryptocurrencies, there is also a transaction fee (or spread) when people convert between different fiat. currencies.
