Bitstamp is a Luxembourg-based cryptocurrency exchange licensed by the Luxembourgish government to operate as a payment institution, a permit that covers all 28 European Union member states.
This license provides a secure platform for bitcoin trading for all European customers. Additionally, Bitstamp has secured a payment institution license from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority, enabling it to operate in the UK.
Is Bitstamp available in the US?
At the time of writing, Bitstamp is not available in the United States (US).
On it's website however, Bitstamp is claiming that this is a work in process and that they are expecting to launch on the US market soon.
Can I use Bitstamp in UK & Canada?
Bitstamp is a cryptocurrency exchange that is available in both the UK and Canada.
Unfortunately for Canadians living in Ontario, you are out of luck as you are restricted from using Bitstamp.
