When it comes to trading fees, eToro and Crypto.com differ quite a bit in terms of what they charge. Let's start with eToro which charges a flat 1% fee for buying and selling cryptocurrencies.
While this is a simple fee structure and buying and selling on crypto is easy for beginners, the fees are on the higher end. eToro also does not offer trading rebates for higher volume buyers.
eToro also offers very competitive stock trading with 0% commissions and without any management or rollover fees.
Crypto.com as a more traditional crypto exchange offers competitive trading fees that can be lowered if you meet certain requirements.
The spot maker and taker fee is a very low 0.075% while for futures, the maker fee is 0.017% and the taker fee is 0.034%.
If you're a high-volume trader, you can benefit from reduced fees by either trading over $250,000 per month or holding at least 1000 CRO tokens.
For beginners who don't mind paying a bit extra on trading fees and who prefer more simplicity, eToro is the way to go. If you are a trader who will be trading higher volumes, exchanges such as Crypto.com and OKX is the way to go.
When it comes to depositing funds on the eToro exchange, users have a range of options to choose from.
With support for 4 fiat currencies including USD, EUR, GBP and AUD, eToro allows for deposits via bank transfer, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and debit card.
The good news is that all fiat deposits are free of charge on eToro, making it a great option for those looking to save on deposit fees. Conversion fee may however be applied as deposits are conducted in $.
On the other hand, Crypto.com only supports USD and EUR for deposit via wire transfer. While this may be limiting for some users, at least there's no deposit fee for wire transfers or USD bank transfers.
So, for those looking to deposit USD on the exchange, Crypto.com is a good option to consider. But overall, eToro is the more versatile exchange in this category.
When it comes to fiat withdrawal methods, both eToro and Crypto.com offer their users a few options.
For eToro, users can withdraw their fiat currency via bank account or to a debit card. However, there is a $5 withdrawal fee and fiat currencies besides USD are subject to conversion fees.
On the other hand, Crypto.com only offers fiat withdrawals for USD and EUR via bank transfer and SEPA. Nevertheless, it's always good to know that this process is free of charge.
Moving on to the cryptocurrency withdrawal fees, Crypto.com only charges 0.0001 BTC for Bitcoin withdrawals.
For cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Solana and Tether USD the fees are a bit higher with 0.04 ETH, 0.03 SOL, and 10 USDT for each respective withdrawal.
While eToro excels in being social trading and multi-asset investment platform for beginners, Crypto.com's broad range of more traditional cryptocurrency products make it an attractive option for beginners and traders alike.
Both exchanges require KYC verification from their users in order to use the services offered but Crypto.com is available in more countries than eToro.
While eToro offers a wider range of over 3,000 financial assets and over 80 cryptocurrencies to trade, Crypto.com offers more cryptocurrencies (290) and more products such as spot, futures, margin, earn products and more.
When it comes to trading fees, eToro charges a flat 1% fee for buying and selling cryptocurrencies, while Crypto.com offers competitive spot trading fees that begin at 0.075% and which can be further lowered.
These fees make Crypto.com the more attractive venue for large volume traders while eToro is more beginners who prefer simplicity and convenience.
We like eToro in particular because it offers such a wide range of financial instruments with stock trades being available for 0%. For those that strictly prefer trading cryptocurrencies however, Crypto.com has more to offer in this regards.
